Call for Collaboration

Building a U!REKA Network on Energy, E-Mobility, Hydrogen and Sustainable Vehicle Systems Development

In Europe the Transportation and Energy Sectors remain largely dominated by fossil fuels. The transformation of these sectors for improved sustainability faces a host of challenges ranging from availability of green energy, infrastructure, vehicle technologies, to customer acceptance and constantly changing regulatory parameters, innovation, resources and industrial stability.

Objectives

Our network seeks to build a platform for collaboration to look at the challenges holistically and find gateways to innovation where the challenges can be addressed. The focus is on sustainable energy, energy efficiency and vehicle systems development based on hybrid, electric and hydrogen systems. In particular topics relating to energy management in electrified powertrains or the energy demand of data-centers which is continuously increasing are of interest. Electrical vehicle sales continue to grow across Europe, however there are conditions under which the range of such vehicles in dramatically reduced. Through innovative solutions we seek to improve the system performance of such vehicles and energy systems while creating synergies to other solutions such as the use of hydrogen and system design for sustainability. With the help of test benches and test rigs (E-mobility Center) at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences we provide a strong basis for doing research on energy systems, powertrain systems and entire vehicle platforms.

Who we are looking for

We look forward to finding collaborators who have experience e.g. with Energy Systems, AI or other mathematical tools in the optimization of complex multi-parameter engineering systems and circular economy integration. Using a data-based approach we seek to asses and improve lifecycle impacts of such innovations.
