The Circular Economy Act will improve the EU's economic security and competitiveness by promoting more sustainable production and circular economy business models, as well as decarbonisation. The Act will enable the free movement of 'circular' products, secondary raw materials, and waste within the EU. It is intended to boost the availability of high-quality recycled materials and encourage demand for them within the EU.

The Commission invites stakeholders and citizens to participate in the public consultation on the Act. All contributions will be taken into consideration when the initiative is developed further.
