Research

Research impact statement

  • My research explores the resilience of buildings, property finance and investment portfolios, under increasing environmental stress—floods, storms, heatwaves, wildfires etc.

  • A truly circular society doesn’t only reuse materials; it designs buildings to withstand future risks, adapt over time, and minimize the need for resource-intensive repairs or reconstruction. Integrating risk-informed design, climate-adjusted investment strategies and suitable financial frameworks into circular strategies is essential to ensure long-term sustainability and profitability.

My research works towards UN Sustainable Development Goals

  1. Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation.

  2. Sustainable Cities and Communities

Making cities and settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.

  3. Climate Action

Take immediate action to combat climate change and its effects.
